Import Users to AuthNull Platform

There are two primary methods to get your directory users into AuthNull:

  1. Active Directory Agent Synchronization: This method involves synchronizing users from your Active Directory domain. Ad Syncronisation
  2. Directory Users: This method allows you to import users directly using LDIF, CSV, or the Add User Form. Directory User Import

Active Directory Agent Synchronization

Importing users via the Active Directory Agent allows for seamless synchronization between your Active Directory domain and the AuthNull platform.

Steps:

  1. Introduction: The AuthNull Active Directory Agent acts as a bridge between AuthNull and the Active Directory domain, facilitating user import and delegated authentication.
  2. Prerequisites:
    • An active AuthNull administrator account.
    • Access to the Active Directory domain with appropriate permissions.
  3. Registration and Configuration:
    • Log in to the AuthNull dashboard.
    • Navigate to the ‘Directory’ section and select ‘Active Directory’.
    • Register the Active Directory Agent.
    • Provide Active Directory domain details.
    • Configure synchronization settings.
    • Generate a unique agent key.
    • Download the AuthNull Active Directory Agent software.

Directory Users Subsection

Users can be imported directly into the AuthNull platform using various methods available in the Directory Users subsection.

Methods:

  • LDIF File: Import users using an LDIF file.
  • CSV File: Use a CSV file to bulk import users.
  • Add User Form: Manually add users using the built-in form.

Manually Assigning an AD Credential to a Directory User

  1. While the AD credentials are automatically assigned to the user’s wallet once you onboard them, you can also manually assign a AD credential by clicking on the particular Directory user and then clicking on the gear icon located at end of the row.

  2. Now, click on assign credential option.

  3. Select an issuer in the modal popup that opened, and Click on ‘Assign’ button

  4. An AD Credential will be issued to that particular user.

    Note: This credential can only be used after the user have signed up for the AuthNull Authenticator application and accepted the credential

Workflow for getting your AD credentials

  1. After you’ve been imported to the AuthNull, you’ll recieve a mail in your organisation issued email address to register for a wallet. Read more on how to register for a wallet

  2. After registering for the wallet you’ll recieve a AD Credential in your AuthNull authenticator app.

  3. You can view the credential by navigating to the landing page of the wallet and checking the section of ‘All credentials’ or section for “AD Credentials”.

  4. Once you’ve the AD credential this can be used to directly login to the endpoint assigned to you with your AD username without a need for typing in the password.
